Communiqué by the Algerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad on the 17th June, 2023.

Algeria strongly condemns the cowardly terrorist attack which occurred on Friday evening, targeting a students’ dormitory at Lhubiriha secondary school in Mpondwe town, western Uganda, and which claimed the lives of dozens of innocent students, while inflicting severe casualties on several others.

While extending its heartfelt condolences and expressing its full solidarity with the Government and the brotherly people of Uganda, Algeria expresses its sincere sympathy with the families of the victims of this heinous crime, and its wishes for a quick recovery to all the wounded.

Algeria reaffirms the need to strengthen cooperation and coordination at the regional and international level to fight terrorism in all its forms and to pursue working to drying up the sources of its financing.
