As part of his participation in the high-level segment of the United Nations General Assembly, Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Attaf, held talks with the UN Secretary-General, Mr. António Guterres in New York. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the growing challenges facing the United Nations and exchange views on the prospects for strengthening the international multilateral system to serve global peace and development issues. The two sides also discussed current international and regional situations, particularly developments in the Palestinian cause, the issue of decolonization in Western Sahara, and developments in the Sahel region.
